The Apartment & Duquesa

The apartment is located on the hill immediately behind Duquesa Port and is surrounded by the Duquesa golf course. It's far enough away from the bustling port area to ensure complete peace and tranquility but you're only a 10-12 minute easy, downhill walk to all the bars, beaches, shops and restaurants you'd ever need. The walk back is, of course, uphill but if that's not for you, there's a very well attended taxi rank right at the bottom of the hill. Approximately 7 Euros takes you door to door.

Just round the corner (a few minutes walk) from the apartment is a very quaint square with a number of bar, restaurants and shops. Well worth a visit if you fancy something a bit more relaxed and chilled than the Port area. You may need to book the restaurants though.

Head to the Med

Two stunning beaches in walking distance

Turn right at the port and you'll be at Playa de la Duquesa and Castillo de le Duquesa. Plenty to do and miles of unspoilt beaches.

Turn left at the port and within a 10-15 minute walk you'll be at Playa de Sabinillas.

Sabinillas

North East of Duquesa in Sabinillas you'll find plenty of beach bars, restaurants, supermarkets and banks. There are markets nearby Fridays and Sundays, the later being a kilometre inland at Camino Los Banos. From July to late August, the Mercado del Mar (Market by the Sea) sets up during the evenings giving the town a carnival feel.

Plenty More

If you're looking for something a little different, if you have transport, you can visit the beautiful Roman baths (30 minute drive away), where you can bathe in spring water fed by hot sulfur springs. It's believed that Julius Caesar's army used the springs. Best of all, it's free to visit and use.

45 minutes away by car or taxi, you can be watching the monkeys on the rock of Gibraltar!

If you're looking for a bigger town to visit, Estepona isn't far away (15 minutes by car or taxi) or for the more adventurous why not hire some push bikes? It's only a 40 minute ride along the mainly flat promenade.

This only just scratches the surface of things around Duquesa port. A quick Google search will show you many things that may interest you. If you enjoy exploring as well as chilling on the beach, Duquesa is a great place to be.

Golf

There are two main golf courses very close by. Duquesa golf is literally on your door step, surrounding the apartment. It's a challenging course but is a lot of fun. Just up the road (5 minute drive) is Dona Julia Golf. It's one of the best courses in the area. Of course though, you are on the "Costa del Golf" so you have plenty to choose from ranging from the fabulous Sotogrande, arguably the best golf course in Spain down to the friendly 9 hole course at Casares Costa Golf.
